You can never win.
People and their expectations.
Got their eyes peeled like a hawk,
just waiting for you to make one wrong move
So that they can move their pieces accordingly
and yell “checkmate!” as they knock you down
to watch your despair to make themselves feel better
That’s the thing
People make others feel bad just to hide their own
insecurities
Not realising that there is no peace in hurting others
That’s exactly what makes them feel worse.
The constant cycle goes on and on,
These are the ways of the world.
